My name is Karen Hartman. I’m the founder and yoga instructor of Hart Yoga. I provide an ancient approach into wellness using a series of poses customized for you.
I’m based in Portland, Oregon. I am available for private solo or group lessons. Contact me and let us setup a date and a program that fits your needs.
About Me
I received a yoga teaching credential from the White Lotus Yoga Foundation in 2018. In 2024 I completed an additional 200 hour Vinyasa flow teacher’s training at Sellwood Yoga and a certification in yin yoga through Parallel 45. I have a playful approach to group classes and have initiated a series of classes teaching in the studio, the redwoods, on the beach, and on lakes and streams using standup paddle boards. I have discovered the power of the breath in my yoga practice to open, strengthen, and calm the body. I love teaching to all ages. I especially love when I can combine yoga with nature. Whether on a paddle board or deep in the forest, yoga always seems to be more relaxing and calming when practiced in the wild.
My primary goal is to guide students’ awareness using the inner healing power of the breath, to be present and at ease in one’s own body, and find the joy and calmness one can experience practicing yoga.

Busy Day Practice
When there does not seem to be any time for yoga. A 30 minute fun and relaxing way to unwind.
Day of the Week Practice
Divide the essential poses into 7 daily practices and delve deeper into the ancient practice of yoga.
Theme Practice
Concentrating on Opening, Balance, Flexibility, Relaxation, and Reducing Fatigue.
